profinet
What is PROFINET?
The industrial Ethernet protocol PROFINET describes the entire data exchange between I/O devices such as the multiprotocol I/O modules and systems of Turck and a controller, the I/O controller with PROFINET master. In this function PROFINET applied as an Ethernet-based successor of the fieldbus protocol PROFIBUS.
PROFINET is optimized in terms of cyclical data exchange and offers many new features and enhancements especially with regard to parameterization and diagnosis compared to traditional fieldbuses.
The system overview gives a first impression of the network architecture and the various I/O and network components.
